Welcome to the Vandersluis Memorial Golf Tournament Online
The Vandersluis Memorial Golf Tournament is an amateur golf tournament held each year at the
Bemidji Town & Country Club over Labor Day Weekend. This year's 41st Annual will be held
August 30, 31 and September 1, 2008. Our event has an international field with a limit of 200 players with divisions for Men, Senior Men and Ladies. Our Men's Championship is
particularly strong with many of the past champions (including 1996 British Open Champion Tom Lehman) going on to successful professional and amateur careers.
The format provides top competition for players of all ability.

Congatulations to Bruce Hegland, Apple Valley, MN and Bruce Simenson, Bemidji, MN this year's Men's and Senior Men's Champions!
Bruce Hegland held a 1-shot lead going into the 18th hole over Neil Rude, White Bear Lake, MN but Neil's birdie on the 18th hole forced a playoff. When Bruce
chipped in for birdie on #1 it gave him his first Vandersluis championship title.
Local favorites Bruce Simenson and Bob Kobilka battled for 18 holes and Bruce took a 2 shot lead to the final hole. But when Bob birdied it forced Bruce to
2-putt from long range to seal the victory. This was Bruce Simenson's first Vandersluis championship title. Congratulations to both Bruce Hegland and Bruce Simenson!

Divisions
There are 6 different divisions that players can enter:
• Mens Champs- Open to men of all ages
• Sr. Men's Champ-Open to men age 50 and over
• Men's Regular flight-Open to men age 19 and over
• Sr Men's Regular flight-Open to men age 50 and over
• Masters Division-Open to men age 65 and over
• Ladies Regular flight-Open to ladies age 19 and over
Format
The Men's Championship and Senior Men's Championship plays 54 holes stroke play, 18 each on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Men's Regular, Senior Men's
Regular, Masters Division and Ladies' Regular play a qualifying round on Saturday and then are flighted based on their score. These regular flights then play an 18 hole match on
Sunday. On Monday all regular flight players play a 9 hole match with the winners playing the second 9 to determine the winner, runner-up and consolation.
